Boston Cream Cake
Vanilla cake filled with pastry cream and topped with chocolate glaze.

- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup milk
- For cream: 2 cups milk, 1/2 cup sugar, 3 egg yolks, 1/4 cup cornstarch, 2 tbsp butter, 1 tsp vanilla
- For glaze: 4 oz chocolate, 1/2 cup cream, 1 tbsp butter

Make vanilla cake; bake at 350°F in two round pans.

Make pastry cream; chill completely.

Split each layer horizontally.

Fill between layers with pastry cream.

Make glaze; pour over top, letting drip down sides.
