Homemade Chai Concentrate

Spicy-sweet concentrate you mix with milk for perfect chai every time.

  • 3 cups water
  • 6 black tea bags
  • 6 cardamom pods, crushed
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 inch ginger, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 3/4 cup sugar or honey
  • Milk for serving

    Simmer water with all spices 15 minutes.

    Remove from heat; add tea bags.

    Steep 5 minutes.

    Strain; stir in sugar.

    Store in refrigerator.

    To serve: mix equal parts concentrate and warm milk.
