Chocolate Stout Cake

Deeply dark, incredibly moist chocolate cake made with stout beer.

  • 1 cup stout beer
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • For frosting: 8 oz cream cheese, 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 cups whipped cream

    Melt butter in stout; whisk in cocoa.

    Mix flour, sugar, baking soda.

    Add eggs and sour cream to beer mixture.

    Combine wet and dry.

    Make frosting: beat cream cheese and sugar; fold in cream.
