Earl Grey Cupcakes

Bergamot-scented tea cupcakes with honey lavender buttercream.

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp Earl Grey tea leaves
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk steeped with Earl Grey
  • For frosting: 1 cup butter, 4 cups powdered sugar, 2 tbsp honey, dried lavender

    Steep tea in warm milk 15 minutes; strain.

    Grind remaining tea leaves fine; add to flour.

    Make cupcake batter.

    Bake at 350F for 18-20 minutes.

    Make honey lavender buttercream.

    Pipe onto cupcakes.
