Classic Flan

Silky caramel custard dessert. The Latin American classic.

  • 1 cup sugar for caramel
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla

    Melt sugar in pan until amber; pour into dish.

    Blend milks, eggs, vanilla.

    Pour over caramel.

  4. 4

    Bake in water bath at 350F for 45-50 minutes.

    Chill overnight.

    Invert onto plate.

Baker's Tips

  • The jiggle test - center should wobble
  • Must chill completely before unmolding
