German Chocolate Cupcakes

Rich chocolate cupcakes topped with coconut pecan caramel frosting.

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup hot coffee
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • For topping: 1 cup evaporated milk, 1 cup sugar, 3 egg yolks, 1/2 cup butter, 1 1/3 cups coconut, 1 cup pecans
