Honey Whole Wheat Bread

Soft, slightly sweet whole wheat sandwich bread. Healthier and homemade!

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp butter, softened

    Mix flours, yeast, and salt.

    Add warm milk, honey, and butter.

    Knead 8-10 minutes until smooth.

    Rise 1 hour until doubled.

    Shape into loaf; place in greased pan.

    Rise 45 minutes.

    Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes.

Baker's Tips

  • Don't add too much flour - dough should be tacky
  • Brush with butter while warm for soft crust
