Nutella Thumbprint Cookies
Hazelnut shortbread cookies with a pool of Nutella in the center.

- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup hazelnuts, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup Nutella

Cream butter and sugar.

Beat in yolk and vanilla.

Mix in flour and salt.

Roll into balls; roll in chopped hazelnuts.

Press thumbprint in center.

Bake at 350F for 10-12 minutes.

Fill warm cookies with Nutella.
Baker's Tips
- •Re-press the thumbprints if they puff up
- •Warm Nutella slightly for easier piping
