Red Velvet Cake

Stunning red cake with a hint of cocoa and classic cream cheese frosting.

  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • For frosting: 16 oz cream cheese, 1 cup butter, 6 cups powdered sugar

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease two 9-inch pans.

    Mix flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.

    Beat oil, sugar, and eggs.

    Add buttermilk, food coloring, vanilla, and vinegar.

    Gradually add dry ingredients.

    Divide between pans; bake 28-30 minutes.

    Beat cream cheese and butter; add powdered sugar.
