- 1 cup flour
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cold butter
- 1 cup molasses
- 3/4 cup boiling water
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 egg, beaten

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Make crumbs: mix flour and brown sugar; cut in butter.

Dissolve baking soda in boiling water; add molasses and egg.
