Snickerdoodle Cookies

Soft, pillowy cookies coated in cinnamon sugar with a slight tang from cream of tartar.

  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp sugar + 3 tsp cinnamon for coating

    Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

    Cream butter and sugar; beat in eggs.

    Mix flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt; add to butter mixture.

    Mix coating sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.

    Roll dough into balls and coat in cinnamon sugar.

    Bake 8-10 minutes until edges are set.

Baker's Tips

  • Don't skip the cream of tartar
