Sticky Toffee Pudding
Moist date cake drenched in warm toffee sauce. British comfort at its best!

- 1 cup chopped dates
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- For sauce: 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup cream

Soak dates in boiling water with baking soda.

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs.

Add flour, baking powder, and date mixture.

Pour into greased 8x8 pan.

Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes.

Make sauce: boil all ingredients 3 minutes.

Poke holes in cake; pour half the sauce over.

Serve warm with remaining sauce.
