Classic Tiramisu

Layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cream dusted with cocoa.

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 16 oz mascarpone cheese
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups strong espresso, cooled
  • 3 tbsp coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • Cocoa powder

    Whisk egg yolks and sugar until thick and pale.

    Add mascarpone and mix until smooth.

    Whip cream to stiff peaks; fold into mascarpone mixture.

    Mix espresso and liqueur.

    Dip ladyfingers briefly in coffee; layer in dish.
