- For 6-inch tier: 2 cups flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 3/4 cup butter, 1 1/4 cups sugar, 4 egg whites, 3/4 cup milk, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp almond extract
- For 10-inch tier: 4 cups flour, 4 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt, 1 1/2 cups butter, 2 1/2 cups sugar, 8 egg whites, 1 1/2 cups milk, 2 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp almond extract
- For frosting: 4 cups butter, 12 cups powdered sugar, 8 tbsp milk, 4 tsp vanilla
- Cake dowels and cake boards

Prepare 6-inch layers (two pans) following standard cake method; bake at 350°F for 28-30 minutes.

Prepare 10-inch layers (two pans); bake at 350°F for 35-40 minutes.

Cool, level, and torte each layer if desired.

Make Swiss meringue buttercream for smoothest finish.

Fill and frost bottom tier, place on sturdy cake board.

Insert dowels cut to tier height.

Fill and frost top tier on separate board.

Stack carefully using dowels for support.

Pipe buttercream roses using a 1M tip around the base and top edge.

Add any additional decorations as desired.
